One of the place I visited with mixed feelings was Dubai. For one thing, I am not passionate about urban photography, but I have to admit, it does offer some breathtaking views, especially at night.
Patience is a key ingredient in photography. Even when a scene seems to be not interesting, just give it a few moments. A little sunlight in the right place, a little smoke from a chimney can transform an otherwise boring scene in a beautiful photo.
Brazil is the place where I spent a little over 5 months this year. Not as a tourist, as I would have liked. And I didn't have nearly enough time to go out and photograph it. In all fairness, it would take a lot longer than 5 months to travel this incredibly beautiful country and photograph everything it has to offer. But I can say with certainty that I loved every corner of it, and I do hope that you will enjoy this much too small collection of images.
Portugal is that kind of place you fall inlove with at first sight. For any photographer it offers and endless supply of opportunities. Its rugged coastline , the beaches with their sharp cliffs are visited by all who come to this beautiful country.
We all travel. Either close to home or to the other side of the world, there's hardly any place without photographic potential. It's only a question of the right time, the right place, lots of patience and lots of luck.
Slovenian sunrise. Sv. Tomasz, Slovenia, 2017
Slovenia is one of those places that's not necesarily on top of anyone's bucket list. But once you get there, inevitably you fall inlove with the small country. From the tall Julian Alps in the north to the rocky shores of the Adriatic, it's a haven for photographers. With it's iconic mist covered churches on top of hills, snow covered mountain tops, waterfalls, and, of course, Lake Bled with its church on the tear shaped island, Slovenia offers countless photographic opportunities in every season.
